THE INCONSEQUENTIAL MOMENTS YOU MUST EXPLORE

In 2018, I was on the same flight with a colleague from work. She is a reader, and she would always travel with books in her bag. She was seated in front of me on the flight, and I noticed that she started reading immediately we settled into our seats and the only time she took a break from the book was when she ate. I observed her throughout. I asked her how many pages she read when we landed, and she said she had covered half of the book already.I have personally tried reading on flights, but it was not my thing. I noticed that my most profound thoughts that produced a lot of professional decisions I have made to date were done on a flight. The idea for my latest published book chapter came in that same flight, and I wrote the four pages draft right in the plane. In 2019, on the way to Accra through Nairobi, I wrote my 2019 best and most shared article between Nairobi and Accra after I had bumped into the man I wrote about at the Jomo Kenyatta airport. It seems there is something unique at that altitude.Ideas have jumped at me in the shower several times. I have cracked deeper secrets while in the restroom before. I have stories of people getting their best business ideas in traffic jams.I believe there are valuable things embedded in those inconsequential moments such as being in a traffic, using the rest-room, being in the shower, driving or flying. What we do with these moments matter.I don't know if you can relate with my theory, but when you read the book "The 5 am Club" by Robin Sharma, you will see that there is something called the "Traffic University". While many people believe that moments such as using the loo or driving or showering or flying should be used just for what they are, I think there are more to these moments. Things such as meditation, deep thinking, inspiration and deep reflections come with these moments, and we should explore.Explore the theory and give me feedback. He gives understanding to the simple.Oluwaseun David ADEPOJU
