ONE HIT WONDER IS FINE

Nico and Vinz gave the world one of the best songs of the last decade. From their biggest hit song "Am I wrong" that has been streamed 478million times on youtube and "praying to god that won't talk back", a piece of music that discouraged drug abuse in the most beautiful words, these musical geniuses touched the world with their unique compositions.However, after their last album, this duo went silent and stopped releasing new songs at the disappointment of their global fanbase of which I am one. I got on their Instagram page a few days ago to see how they are fairing. These guys are travelling the world, and they looked happy if my judgement is right.The most astonishing thing for me is how people kept writing all kinds of comments on their posts, from words encouraging them to release more songs to comments appreciating them for releasing songs that the world will never forget. Unfortunately, there were also comments calling them "sleeping giants". In fact, I read a statement that called them "sleepy star".As I read through these comments, I had many mixed feelings at how people see talents. Even though I would have loved them to sing more, I also have a deeper understanding of talents. What if all that they are supposed to give the world is "Am I wrong"?. While we have many expectations on how someone's talent should play out, we must learn to appreciate the works they have done, even if they are not enough in our sights.Many people knew that David killed Goliath, but they never knew how long he had practised for many years behind the wilderness.Killing Goliath was the "One-hit" David needed to be launched into his full destiny.Appreciate the one gift that person has given even if they won't give you another.He gives understanding to the simple.Oluwaseun David ADEPOJU
