DIGITAL DECLUTTERING: YOUR SCREENTIME IS THE CULPRIT

Early last month, I embarked on a digital decluttering journey by deactivating five apps that seem to take most of my time from my phone. After a week, I received the screentime report from my phone, and I discovered that I had saved 7 hours compared to the previous week.Yesterday, my screentime report came, and I had saved 9 hours. It is increasingly evident that modern social media apps are designed to keep us glued to our screens with more content baits of interest. My weakness was Instagram. I would log in to check updates in 20 minutes, but I would have spent 2 hours without realising it from one gist to another and from one page to another. It is surprising how I now have more time for deep work and meaningly rest time despite my busy schedule. I never knew social media was consuming the 7 hours I needed for rest and other things. It is good to use these apps, but we must be in control instead and not the other way round. I now have the discipline to use 20 minutes to reply to my messages, make my posts and leave. Thanks to digital decluttering practice.Try to slow down and declutter yourself to gain back control of your time and your life.
